It seems that people choose their careers, while others’ careers choose them. GJ may be the latter. GJ’s father was a very successful banker, which sparked an interest in money, investments and business in GJ at a very young age. After graduating from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota, GJ accepted a position at Ameriprise Financial, where he launched his financial services career. After a successful 10-plus years there, he decided to partner with John Soukup in the early days of Superior Wealth Management Group And, as they say, the rest is history.

GJ is passionate about many things. But anyone who knows him knows that he is most passionate about his family. A devoted spouse to Suzy and father to three boys (Brendan, Dylan and Cody), GJ’s world outside of SWMG is laser-focused on his family life. And he loves every minute of it, whether it’s driving to or from an athletic practice, coaching football or baseball, or simply spending quality time with his wife and kids, GJ embraces every moment.

GJ’s other passion, however, is his clients. A tireless advocate, advisor and friend to those who work with SMWG, GJ absolutely loves helping our clients and is willing to go to extraordinary lengths to do so.

He is a voracious reader and enjoys spending late nights and early mornings studying world markets, equity and bond markets, and other issues that impact clients at SWMG.

In his spare time, GJ loves to travel and is particularly fond of Ireland, not only because he is Irish, but because he loves the Irish culture and does, from time to time, enjoy a cold, Irish stout.
